Prior to establishing the Social Planning Consultancy Rochelle was for six years the Social Planner for the City of Salisbury, South Australia, and earlier worked in Community and Women’s Health as a Manager and Community Health Worker.  As a women's health worker Rochelle successfully supported a number of local women, many sole parent women, to develop small businesses and to return to ongoing education.

As the Social Planner for the City of Salisbury, she worked on a range of projects, such as, greenfield developments and neighbourhood plans, developed a range of Strategic Plans for a multicultural community and an ageing community, along with a Social Health Policy for the City.

Rochelle has broadened the consultancy experience in the last couple of years by working with  non-government sector agencies in Bangladesh and India.  The main thrust of the work has been in the development of 'Model Health Villages'.

Rochelle is the specialist member in the field of social impact assessments on the Major Developments Panel; currently sits on the Board and Policy Council of the South Australian Council of Social Services (SACOSS) and Yarrow Place; is a member of the International Association for Impact Assessment; a member of a Health Research Project Advisory Committee (Department of Public Health, Flinders University), and represents SACOSS on the South Australian Government’s Strategy Advisory Committee for a new study on water resources for South Australia.

Rochelle teaches 'Social Planning Techniques' for the Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of South Australia.
